Hi, can someone guide or point out to articles on how to target international clients through SEO. Is there a feature in RankMath free or pro towards this? I’m not looking at language / hreflang related options, this site is in English only. The domain is a gTLD (.com) and the nature of service is online, so can be offered to anyone in the world.

  1. Very interested in this topic, someone advised me to add the name of the international at the end of the title and keyword, let’s say you are targeting Alabama with a keyword “Restaurants for organic foods” it would be “Restaurants for organic foods in Alabama”: am not sure if it’s the right way to go, please advise

  2. The very best thing in my experience is correct language for locale + gTLD. Nothing else will work as well. Age-old debate on domain vs sub-folders but I’ve always gone with gTLD. Reasons include it reduces reliance on one infrastructure set up (if it goes wrong somewhere you screw it up for all locales) as well as being more flexible on creating the right experience & branding (which may differ). More to keep track of but these days there are tools to help.

If all your customers speak only English (or are heavily skewed that way) then locale-orientated content/keywords + contextual backlinks from specific country has been a couple of ways that has worked for my clients.

As it happens I am due to do something similar with a small affiliate site of mine so will be practicing what I preach but with a budget way smaller than my client’s.

    Good luck.
