Hey Rankmath, how long does it take for a website to recover from algorithm filtering after backlink

Hey Rankmath, how long does it take for a website to recover from algorithm filtering after backlinks disavow, am not even sure if it’s due backlinks but the website isn’t just ranking, is there an algorithm filter for thin duplicate content? Lastly am thinking of dissavowing all the backlinks the site has and after delete all the content and start afresh using the same domain since I can’t identify the exact cause of the algorithm filter, is it a good strategy which will help the website recover?

  1. Hello, Thank you so much for getting in touch.

Disavowing links should be a last resort as the Google algorithm is very smart in understanding the purpose of backlinks as is explained in this article: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en

You also need to be sure that you don’t have any manual penalties applied by Google on your domain as this can happen if you engage in black-hat SEO techniques or similar.

If you are penalized by Google we recommend the following article: https://neilpatel.com/blog/google-penalty/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
